Reiselied: Ephemeral Fantasia (ライゼリート エフェメラル ファンタジア) or just Ephemeral Fantasia in English is an RPG created by Konami.

Development
Originally Reiselied was planned to be released on the Dreamcast. But because of the short lifespan of the Dreamcast it was ported to the PS2. This caused many Sega references to be cut including Sonic the Hedgehog, Ulala, and Ryo Hazuki.

Music
Ephemeral Fantasia's story is heavily influenced by the music the main character, Mouse, plays. The player is also able to play this music adding a Rhythm genre to the mix. The method of playing music in the game was adapted from Konami's Guitar Freaks. As such, the player is able to connect a Guitar Freaks Guitar to the system and play songs in that manner. Without a guitar the player must use the controller.

Trivia
* It is most commonly speculated that the term reiselied is taken from German, which means travel song. This is mostly accepted since it makes sense given the context of the game.

Reception
Ephemeral Fantasia received generally negative reviews from players generally citing generic gameplay and poorly implemented time aspect, but there are quite a few players that have a very high opinion of the game for the same reasons others dislike it. It was first appealing to players because of its anime styled imagery and characters, but some found that that quality didn't make up for the other shortcomings. Ultimately it appears to be a love it or hate it game.

Clock Tower (クロックタワー) is a video game made for the Super Famicom by the now defunct company HUMAN.

Setting
The game takes place in the fictional Barrows' Mansion located in Romsdalen, Norway. The protagonist of the story Jennifer Simpson was adopted along with 3 of her friends, Ann, Laura, and Lotte in September of 1995 by a wealthy man who is only known to the girls as Mr. Barrows.

The game begins as the girls are walking toward the Barrows Mansion after having been adopted. Jennifer is excited and, given the context, has been asking a lot about their new home and their new father. They enter and rest in the foyer of the large mansion while their caretaker, Mary, goes to get Mr Barrows.

After talking with the other girls Jennifer, who the player is now in control of, goes to look for Mary since she's been taking quite a while. A scream is heard and upon reentering the foyer Jennifer finds the other girls missing. Thus the intro to the game is finished.

Genre Explanation
Clock tower incorporates a few genres in its implementation, most notably point-and-click, the generic adventure, and of course horror.

Point-and-Click
Clock Tower implements a different style of genre mix for a horror including point-and-click. This genre is seen in many other games including an author favorite Wonder Project J. Point-and-click is severely self explanatory, but the player moves a pointer around and clicks, after which Jennifer interacts with an object or moves in that direction and stops where the pointer clicked.

Adventure
Adventure is a very broad genre because it's a very general term, but Clock Tower does incorporate an adventure. The player has the ability to move around the mansion freely. There are keys and other, necessary and unnecessary, items to collect as well as rooms to just explore and interact with. It is quite expansive and does, mildly, incorporate adventuring aspects in the game. But, some players might be too scared to explore in abundance.

Horror
Clock Tower has an interesting take on the horror genre. A common horror integration involves weapons and moving through an area while fighting, running, or sneaking. As the main protagonist of Clock Tower you can do almost nothing. When you are discovered you run and hide. You can defend yourself, in the sense that you can stop Bobby for a moment, but not indefinitely. This allows for a significant amount of fearful atmosphere. Incorporating this brings a sense of fear in the player that many games don't come close to.

}}

Actraiser (アクトレイザー Akutoreizā) is a Video Game for the Super Nintendo created by Quintet and published by Enix. Released on December, 16 1990 , ActRaiser is loosely related to the Soul Blader, Illusion of Gaia, and Terranigma games. While only in very miniscule references, as with all the aforementioned games.

Gameplay
Actraiser has two forms of gameplay. There are two sections to each area. When the player starts an area he must cleanse it of monsters so people can populate the area. This initial play is sectioned by acts and can be classified as Action. The second genre that the game implements is the God Simulator or City building simulator.
Act Partitioning
While action a very generic title for a genre it is the best description for what happens at this point of the game. Each portion of this part of the game is divided into acts. Generally each area has 2 acts the first is the initial cleansing of monsters and a subsequent boss and the next is the fina; act, generally act 2, and final, harder, boss of the area. In each act the player is presented with a side-scrolling map and must continue from the left side of the map to the right side of the map fighting monsters along the way. The player's avatar wields a sword and various magic that can be used to kill or otherwise defeat the monsters as they appear. When the player reaches the end of the map they are presented with a boss fight. The completion of this will allow humans to repopulate the area and the player guides them as a God.

God Simulator
As a god-like entity the player is presented with humans who follow his commands. The player needs to aid the people in becoming a civilization this is done by:

* Defeating monsters that spawn from pools until the civilization is able to seal said spawning pools.
* Guide the people in what direction they should build.
* Help the civilization grow and evolve into a self-sustaining municipal entity.
* Encourage structurally sound buildings.
* Finish cleansing the area of monsters, via the second act.

The player is given some god-like abilities, or magic, that help them accomplish this.
God-like Abilities Available During Simulation
You, as a God, can use different skills to aid the people in their efforts to build and grow their city during the simulation mode. You can also destroy parts of the land for whatever reason, with some exceptions. The list of skills available during the simulation mode are as follows

* Lightning - Call down lightning that will demolish all non permanent structures, e.g. homes, with the intention of encouraging the people to build more robust structures or destroying any monsters on the panel.
* Rain - Rain will shower the given panel and can water an area with the intention of growing greenery in said panel.
* Sunlight - Sunlight will shine down upon the given area. This can melt snow or dry marsh, which may help with city expansion.

Items Available During Action Mode
There are several items available to the player as they traverse the action stages.
* Half Apple - 1/4 of your life gauge will be restored by taking this item.
* Origin of Magic - Each magic scroll will increase your MP by one point.
* 1000 Bonus Points - The 1000 bonus points is the highest available in the game.
* Projectiles - One of the items you collect will allow you to throw crescent force fields from your sword.
* Whole Apple - A whole apple completely restores your life gauge.
* 500 Bonus Points - A bonus of 500 points. The more points you get, the easier the game will be.
* 1-UP - An extra life for the main character.
* Crush - Taking this item will instantly destroy all enemies on the screen.
When the player reaches the end of the map they are presented with a boss fight. The completion of this will allow humans to repopulate the area and the player guides them as a God.

God Simulator
* Defeating monsters that spawn from pools until the civilization is able to seal said spawning pools.
* Guide the people in what direction they should build.
* Help the civilization grow and evolve into a self-sustaining municipal entity.
* Encourage structurally sound buildings.
* Finish cleansing the area of monsters, via the second act.

The player is given some god-like abilities, or magic, that help them accomplish this.
Version differences
Interestingly the Japanese and US versions of the game not only have different box art, which is extremely common, but they also have different title screens. Changing the entire title screen is very rare and little is known as to why, it could be related to the box art. The Japanese title matches the Japanese box art and the localization team wanted to emulate that same idea when they were localizing the game.

This, of course, is the authors opinion and he has no idea what he's doing.

Censorship
A bit of censoring is prevalent in this game.
Graphical Censorship
<ul>
<li>In the beginning of the game in Japanese there is a cross behind the priest in the school this was changed to a statue in the North American release</li>
<li>The boss in the Sky Garden had its sprite changed significantly. In the Japanese version the boss is a giant bird. In the American version the boss is a winged Babylonian statue with talons. The creators of the game originally wanted it this way, but because of time constraints were unable to finish the boss's sprite. They were able to finish it completely with the American port of the game</li>
</ul>

Textual Censorship
<ul>
<li>In the Japanese version of the game the starting school is a Christian school, probably catholic, in the American release it's just referred to as a school</li>
<li>The priest in the Japanese version leads Will in prayer when the player speaks to hum while he leads Will in a poem in the American Version</li>
<li>The ocean monster is referred to as the Biblical Leviathan, who is part of an ocean dweller race while in the American version he's just a separate entity known as Riverson</li>
<li>The Japanese version indicates that that Seth's consciousness was absorbed by Leviathan while the American release indicates Seth was turned into Riverson</li>
<li>In the Japanese version the native tribesman that were starving were cannibals, the skeletal remains scattered over the ground were their fellow tribesman they had devoured in order to survive</li>
<li>Will and Kara comment, at the end of the game while looking at the earth on the comet, that "This is what it must feel like to be God"</li>
</ul>

* Encourage structurally sound buildings.
* Finish cleansing the area of monsters, via the second act.

The player is given some god-like abilities, or magic, that help them accomplish this.
God-like Abilities Available During Simulation
Clock Tower (クロックタワー) is a video game made for the Super Famicom by the now defunct company HUMAN.

Setting
The game takes place in the Barrows' Mansion located in Romsdalen, Norway.
