Reiselied: Ephemeral Fantasia (ライゼリート エフェメラル ファンタジア) or just Ephemeral Fantasia in English is an RPG created by Konami.

Development

Originally Reiselied was planned to be released on the Dreamcast. But because of the short lifespan of the Dreamcast it was ported to the PS2. This caused many Sega references to be cut including Sonic the Hedgehog, Ulala, and Ryo Hazuki.

Music

Ephemeral Fantasia's story is heavily influenced by the music the main character, Mouse, plays. The player is also able to play this music adding a Rhythm genre to the mix. The method of playing music in the game was adapted from Konami's Guitar Freaks. As such, the player is able to connect a Guitar Freaks Guitar to the system and play songs in that manner. Without a guitar the player must use the controller.

Trivia

It is most commonly speculated that the term reiselied is taken from German, which means travel song. This is mostly accepted since it makes sense given the context of the game.

Reception

Ephemeral Fantasia received generally negative reviews from players.
